This article examines theoretical and practical issues related to interactive cybertheatre, focussing on ontological questions of liveness, identity, the virtual body, and the role of the interactive audience. There are two sections: A case study, linked to video clips and other documentation, of an interactive cybertheatre performance which combined live streaming video with a parallel chat room in which the audience could affect the action and write dialogue for the performers in real-time.
